Fairy Godmother Tycoon is a satirical twist on fairy tales from a business simulation game perspective. In this game you will help the ever-business savvy Fairy Godmother with her once successful potions store that has taken a hit because of the bad economy and stiff competition in fairyland. You must help the patrons of your towns with potions that will alleviate their heartache and big heads all the while collecting beans (the fairytale land currency) to improve the business and overall capital of the Fairy Godmother.

Consumers Have Different Needs In Fairytale Land

As far as simple “day to day” simulations (you sell during the day and sales stop once the day is over) are concerned Fairy Godmother Tycoon is one of the best on the market. You will build your business, restock your supplies, and plan marketing strategies on your off time, while raking it in during the day.

This game's helpful tutorial explains the gameplay well. Essentially the steps of the game are to first check the news to see what ailments are affecting your townspeople. Once you do this you must resupply your ingredients, which may consist of fish heads or itsy bitsy spiders, and then you will set your prices. You can also spend money on marketing and research that will increase your business and expand your number of potions respectively. When things are in order you will begin the day and sell as many potions as you can. The money you make can be spent on upgrades like faster potion making or bigger stores. These will also increase your productivity and build your business more effectively.

Some Nice Humor Injected Into the Gameplay

One element of this game that sets it apart from others in the genre is humor. Fairy Godmother Tycoon is humorous and has fragments of advanced wit that only older users would appreciate. They don't give any tips on how you can improve.

Another element of the game that could use improving is the research and development aspect. Researching new products never comes off as important until your townspeople become affected with a new ailment. At this point research is extremely costly and the townspeople become irritated that you cannot help them. If research was given more importance during the game before it became absolutely necessary, the game would be more fun and less stressful.
